Welcome to the official website of America Inspires Freedom: The Kosovo Story, Kosovo’s contribution to the commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.

This historic initiative celebrates one of the most remarkable friendships of our time—the enduring partnership between the people of Kosovo and the United States.

Through a formal Memorandum of Understanding between the Albanian American Foundation and America250, the United States Semiquincentennial Commission established by Congress, Kosovo became the first and only country outside the United States officially included in the international programming of America250.

For generations, America has stood as a beacon of freedom, democracy, opportunity, and hope. For the people of Kosovo, those ideals are not merely admired—they have been experienced. American leadership and support played a decisive role in helping secure freedom, peace, democracy, and statehood for Kosovo.

Through conferences, educational programs, cultural events, public discussions, community partnerships, and a special commemorative publication, this project seeks to honor that extraordinary relationship while inspiring future generations to cherish and strengthen the values that unite our nations.

As we celebrate 250 years of the American story, we also celebrate the story of friendship, partnership, and shared democratic values between Kosovo and the United States.
