Lead Municipal Partner
As the capital city of the Republic of Kosovo, the Municipality of Prishtina serves as the Lead Municipal Partner of the America250 Project in Kosovo.
On July 2, 2026, Prishtina will host the project's flagship municipal event: America and Kosovo: A Freedom Story for the Next 250 Years.
The event will commemorate both the 250th Anniversary of the United States and the historic Constitutional Declaration of July 2, 1990, bringing together American guests, public officials, educators, civil society leaders, students, and citizens to reflect on Kosovo's democratic
journey and the enduring partnership with the United States.
As host city, Prishtina occupies a central place in the national commemoration and serves as a symbol of Kosovo's democratic aspirations and transatlantic future.

city.
On July 1, 2026, Prizren will host: American Inspiration and Kosovo's Democractic Journey to Freedom
This special conference and public forum will explore the role of culture, identity, education, and international friendship in Kosovo's path
toward freedom and democracy.
The event will highlight Prizren's unique place in Kosovo's history while celebrating the values that have united the people of Kosovo and
the United States for generations.

On June 29, 2026, UBT will host our America250 Distinguished Academic Forum: From Liberation to Leadership: Educating the Next
Generation Through the Kosovo–U.S. Partnership
This academic forum will bring together distinguished American scholars, policy experts, civic leaders, students, faculty, and public officials
to examine the lessons of the Kosovo–United States partnership and explore how education can strengthen democratic leadership for future
generations.
The forum will also serve as the principal academic platform for discussion of the commemorative publication: When America Came for Us:
Kosovar Stories of Freedom, a collection of personal stories and reflections documenting the impact of the United States on Kosovo's
journey to freedom, democracy, and statehood.
