scholars, advocates, and public servants whose work has contributed to strengthening democratic values, international cooperation, and the
enduring partnership between Kosovo and the United States.

Professor Daniel Serwer

Professor Daniel Serwer is one of America's most respected scholars and policy experts on the Balkans,
conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and post-conflict state development.

A professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a former United States diplomat, Professor Serwer has spent decades working on issues related to Southeast Europe, democratic transitions, and international security. Throughout Kosovo's modern history, he has been a thoughtful voice and advocate for peace, stability, and democratic development in the Western Balkans.

His expertise and long-standing engagement with Kosovo have earned him deep respect among policymakers, academics, and citizens alike.

Professor Edward P. Joseph

Professor Edward Joseph is a renowned foreign policy expert, educator, and former United States government official specializing in the Balkans and transatlantic relations.

Currently affiliated with Johns Hopkins University SAIS, Professor Joseph previously served in several diplomatic and field assignments throughout Southeast Europe and has been actively engaged in promoting democratic reform, regional cooperation, and peacebuilding efforts.

Known for his insightful analysis and commitment to constructive dialogue, Professor Joseph has been a consistent contributor to discussions regarding Kosovo's future and the broader strategic importance of the Western Balkans.

Besa Tafilaj Pinchotti

Besa Tafilaj Pinchotti serves as Chief Executive Officer of the National Military Family Association, one of America's leading organizations dedicated to supporting military families, veterans, and service members.

Born to a Kosovo Albanian father and raised with a deep appreciation for both her Albanian heritage and American civic values, she has devoted her career to public service, leadership, and advocacy on behalf of military families across the United States.

Her participation in this project reflects the important human connections that continue to strengthen the bond between Kosovo and America.

Mario Marquez

Mario Marquez serves as Executive Director for Government Affairs at The American Legion, the nation's largest veterans service organization.

A veteran and public affairs leader, Mr. Marquez has dedicated his career to advocating for veterans, service members, and their families while promoting civic engagement, patriotism, and public service.

His participation in America Inspires Freedom: The Kosovo Story highlights the enduring values of service, sacrifice, and commitment to
freedom that unite the American and Kosovar peoples.
